Perthshire Artists Bring Colour and Creativity to the 2025 Summer Show at Perth’s Civic Hall

This summer marks another exciting chapter for Perthshire’s vibrant creative community, as local artists bring their work to the much-anticipated Summer Show at the Civic Hall in Perth town centre.

Introduced in 2023, the exhibition has quickly become a highlight of the creative calendar, offering visitors a unique opportunity to enjoy and purchase original work in the easy to access Civic Hall on the banks of the River Tay. This year’s show runs from Saturday 12 July to Sunday 3 August, with the gallery open daily from 10am to 5pm. Artists will be present throughout, welcoming guests and sharing insights into their creative process.

With over 2’500 people working in the creative industries across Perthshire, according to recent estimates, the area continues to be a hub of artistic talent. From painters and printmakers to textile designers, ceramicists, and jewellers, the exhibition showcases a diverse range of media and styles – all under one roof.

The Civic Hall in Perth, easily accessible by bus from Perth, has a set down point for easy access to building which is also wheelchair accessible, offers the perfect day out. Visitors can enjoy a coffee in the café and explore other related projects in the town, or just take in the beautiful scenery of the nearby River Tay.

“The Summer Show is a fantastic way for people to experience the breadth of creativity coming out of Perthshire,” said Angela Thomson, Co-Director and Chair of the Perthshire Open Studios. “We wanted to give our members a professional platform to show their work, while drawing visitors into the stunning landscapes that inspire so much of what they create.”

The Summer Show was unveiled at a preview event on Friday the 11th of July where the artists, their family and friends and other guests enjoyed seeing the exhibition fully formed.

Provost of Perth and Kinross, Xander McDade was one of the special guests at the evening and said

“It was a real privilege to attend the Summer Show preview on Friday 11 July, and I’d encourage everyone to visit and experience the inspiring work on display. Exhibitions will be running throughout the summer, offering a fantastic opportunity to celebrate local creativity.”

Coming up later this year is the Open Studios, taking place from the 6th of September, as well as the annual Open Studios Showcase at The Bield from the 30th of August at The Barn Gallery, The Bield. The Barn Gallery is set in magnificent grounds which are usually open for visitors to enjoy when visiting the exhibition.
